Experts in 4D Pregnancy Ultrasound
A 4D scan is one of the most exciting milestones of your pregnancy journey, giving you the opportunity to see your baby's features in incredible detail before they arrive.
Using our brand-new, state-of-the-art 4D ultrasound technology, combined with our highly skilled team, we're committed to making your experience as memorable as possible.
When is the ideal time to book a 4D scan?
The ideal time for a 4D scan is between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy, when your baby has developed enough features while still having plenty of room to move. However, it's often possible to capture beautiful 4D images right up to 36 weeks.
If you have an anterior placenta, we recommend attending before 30 weeks for the best opportunity to achieve high-quality images.
For the best possible 4D experience, we also recommend arriving with a full bladder, as this can help improve image quality.

Factors that can affect your 4D images & quality
Every baby is different, and several factors can affect the quality of your 4D images. Some things are simply beyond our control — baby is in charge! Below are the main things to consider:
👶 Baby’s Position
If they are facing away, have their hands or feet in front of their face, or are tucked into the placenta, it can be harder to capture clear facial images.
🤰 Maternal Factors
Having an above avergae body weight will significantly impact the clarity of your images, due to having more layers of body tissue for the ultrasound to pass through.
💧 Your Bladder
Arriving with a full bladder can help improve image quality, particularly when baby’s head is sitting low in your pelvis.
🫶 Placenta Position
An anterior placenta can sometimes make it more difficult to obtain clear images. If you have an anterior placenta, we recommend booking your 4D scan before 30 weeks where possible.
