Are Children Welcome To Attend?

Absolutely! We are a family-friendly studio and we welcome you and your families to enjoy your scan experience. Please ensure there is a suitable adult to look after younger children in the scan room due to the medical equipment, we kindly request that children remain seated during the scan.

Question 2

Im Not Sure Of My Dates, When Can I Come For A Scan?

Accepted Answer

This is a very common question! To see anything on ultrasound, you need to be at least 6 weeks pregnant (or 2 weeks since your first positive test). We recommend booking the viability scan in this instance as we are able to undertake a transvaginal scan if necessary.

Please do not book a scan until at least 14 days from your first strong pregnancy test. If you do book before this, we cannot confidently confirm viability of your pregnancy which may lead to unnecessary stress.

How Old Do I Need To Be For A Scan?

We cannot scan anyone under the age of 16 for legal reasons.

If you are aged 16-18 you will need a responsible adult present. We cannot scan anyone who is 16 or 17 years old without a responsible adult.

Do You Sell Heartbeat Bears?

Yes! We stock a range of heartbeat bears and you can purchase these from 14+ weeks.

Just let us know on the day of your scan if you would like one (subject to availability). These are available to view in the scan room.

What Is Included In My Scan?

Are Your Sonographer's Qualified?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! We only employ HCPC registered sonographers who also work in the NHS. This means you are getting the best quality professional service, and should any problems be identified during your scan, you will be informed and referred onto the appropriate service using our direct referral process.

Question 7

Is Ultrasound Safe for My Baby?

Yes it is ☺️ In a nutshell- there has been no evidence to date to suggest ultrasound is unsafe for you or your baby.  At Tiny Toes Scan Studio, we work strictly according to British Medical Ultrasound Society guidelines (BMUS) and as our sonographer's are fully qualified and experienced, you can be assured that they will put you and your baby's safety first at all times.

Question 8

When Will I Receive My Images From The Scan?

You will receive your printed images immediately after to take away with you! We will then send you your digital images (and videos if included in your package) and you will receive these within 1 hour of your appointment. If you have chosen to receive them via email, please check your spam folder.

Question 9

How Many Guests Can I Bring?

We are only a small scan studio and therefore we allow you to bring up to 3 guests along with you if possible.For gender and 4D scans, you can bring one extra guest along too! If you’d like to bring along additional family or friends, we’re happy to accommodate you where possible. Just pop us a message before your appointment to let us know, so we can make the necessary arrangements

I Don't Want To Know The Gender, Can I Still Have A Scan?

Yes of course!!! Just let us know at the scan appointment and we will ensure total secrecy.

🤐 Our sonographer will ask you to look away when doing checks of baby near the bottom as we always conduct a basic wellbeing check of baby- this includes checking the baby's bladder.

How Should I Prepare For My Scan?

For all scans it is advised to attend with a full bladder. You don't need to do anything else to prepare.

How Long Will My Scan Last?

Please refer to your chosen scan package, as this will detail the scan length time. This varies depending upon the package you have selected - but don't worry we do not rush you! We care about your experience and don't believe in a conveyer-belt system for our patients! We are mums too, and we understand the importance of these scans ☺️

What Happens If I don't Get Clear Photos?

Whislt we will try our best to ensure you leave with some amazing photos, this is highly dependant on numerous factors.

Having a high BMI (above average bodyweight) will degrade the resultant image quality. In addition, the position of baby, or the placenta can also impact image quality. We may get you to empty your bladder, or get moving to get baby in a better position.

If you attend for an early scan and you are less than 7 weeks, you may have sub-optimal images of baby. Please wait 3 weeks following a positive test to ensure best chance of good quality images.

Some of our packages do include a FREE re-scan if you leave with sub-optimal images. Please refer to your chosen package to check if this is included.

Question 14

When Is The Best Time To Have a 4D Scan?

The best time to have 4D scan is between 26 - 32 weeks.

If you have an anterior placenta, please book between 26-28 weeks as this affects the 4D quality. 4D is highly dependant on the position of your baby, the fluid around baby and the placenta/BMI.

Remember, the larger baby is, the less clear the images are so please don't leave it until the last few weeks as it is highly unlikely you will get clear views of baby's face.

A full bladder is required for bets possible images. If you attend without a full bladder- this will result in poorer quality 4D.

Do You Sell Gender Reveal Items?

Yes we do! We sell:

Canons - smoke and confetti 
Smoke grenades 
Scratch Cards
Gender reveal heartbeat bears (in a box)

Or we can simply pop the gender into an envelope for you

Question 16

What Happens If There Is Something Wrong At My Scan?

Accepted Answer

Occasionally, we may find something unexpected at your scan. Our sonographers are fully qualified and will explain the scan in detail including any suspicious findings. You will be referred onto the relevant service for follow up and given a detailed report.

It is imperative you attend your NHS scans as the purpose of these is to detect any possible problems with your pregnancy. We are not always able to see every abnormality- some abnormalities may only become apparent at a later date.

What Happens If I Am Late For My Appointment?

We will always try our best to accommodate you on the day- though this is not guaranteed so allow plenty of time for travel.

We may ask you to come back on that day during a gap if we have one. Unfortunately, we cannot rebook for an alternative day. If we do have a gap on the day, we will ask you to come back at a specific time. You won't be able to wait in our waiting room due to other appointments and to reduce overcrowding. If you are not able to, you will loose your deposit and need to rebook if you would like another appointment.

What If I am Not Happy With The Service?

At Tiny Toes Scan Studio we strive to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience. Should this fall below our expected standards, please raise this on the day. If you feel you are not able to do so, please email us at tinytoes-scanstudio@outlook.com.

We take any complaints seriously and will aim to respond within 48 hours.

Question 19

Can I Record My Scan On My Phone?

Yes of course!! All we ask is that you respectively do not record our sonogrpaher. We will ask you to record the TV screen 😊

We do not charge you anything additional to record your scan- however we do take you some videos on the day that will be sent to you so you don't have to worry about missing that smile, or little wave. We have you covered so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the scan.

Question 20

How Do I Amend / Change My Booking?

You can easily manage your own booking by signing up to our page. We receive a high volume of messages requesting to change appointments, so there may be long a delay in our response. Therefore it is advised to do this yourself to avoid disappointment.

On your mobile, navigate to the main menu. You will then see a small person pop up on the top left. Click this, and then log in to manage your booking.

I Need To Ask A Question, What Is The Best Way To Contact You?

Our best method of contact is via email or Facebook. We aim to respond as soon as possible

Can I get a refund if I cancel my appointment?

Accepted Answer

Yes, however we kindly request a minimum of  24 hours notice for all cancellations. This allows us to re-advertise the appointment with time to fill it. Any cancellations made within 24 hours will loose the deposit paid.

Question 23

Do You Send  A Recording Of The Baby's Heartbeat?

Accepted Answer

No we don't- the machine is not capable of recording the audio and so we advise you to record this on your own device at the time of your scan. Once your scan has ended, we are not able to retrieve the heartbeat. Please ensure you record this yourself.
