See your baby before you meet them

Every Baby is Different
Every baby has their own little personality — and that includes how they choose to pose for their 4D photos!

When should I book my 4D scan?
We recommend booking your 4D scan between 26–32 weeks for the best chance of capturing beautiful views of your baby’s features.
If you have an anterior placenta, we recommend booking before 30 weeks where possible. As baby grows and space becomes more limited, an anterior placenta can sometimes make it more difficult to capture clear views of baby’s face.
But remember — every baby is different! Some babies are little show-offs, while others are a bit more shy. Baby’s position, placenta location and the amount of fluid around baby can all affect the views we’re able to capture.

Over 32 Weeks?
You Can Still See Baby in 4D!
Think you’ve left it too late? Not necessarily!
While we recommend 26–32 weeks for the best chance of capturing clear 4D images, we can still capture some beautiful images later in pregnancy. Every baby is different, and we’ve had some gorgeous 4D views of babies well beyond 32 weeks.
Here are a few of our Tiny Toes babies captured after 32 weeks — just to show you what’s possible! 👶
Remember, every baby is different, and baby’s position, placenta location and available space can all affect the views we’re able to capture. Ultimately… baby is in charge!

Factors that can affect your 4D images & quality
Every baby is different, and several factors can affect the quality of your 4D images. Some things are simply beyond our control — baby is in charge! Below are the main things to consider:
👶 Baby’s Position
If they are facing away, have their hands or feet in front of their face, or are tucked into the placenta, it can be harder to capture clear facial images.
🤰 Maternal Factors
Having an above avergae body weight will significantly impact the clarity of your images, due to having more layers of body tissue for the ultrasound to pass through.
💧 Your Bladder
Arriving with a full bladder can help improve image quality, particularly when baby’s head is sitting low in your pelvis.
🫶 Placenta Position
An anterior placenta can sometimes make it more difficult to obtain clear images. If you have an anterior placenta, we recommend booking your 4D scan before 30 weeks where possible.
