Gender Scan & Fetal Well-being Check From 15 weeks Duration: 15 minutes, including approximately 5 minutes of scan time Gender accuracy: Up to 99.9%, depending on gestation, baby’s position and image quality The main purpose of this scan is to carry out basic fetal well-being checks while offering a personal gender reveal experience. What’s included? • Basic fetal well-being checks, including: • Visualisation of baby’s heartbeat • Baby’s position • Visualisation of the fetal stomach and bladder • Assessment that baby’s growth is within the expected range for your due date • Assessment of amniotic fluid levels • Two prints to take away • Digital report • Personal gender reveal These checks are carried out by NHS-experienced staff who have or still specialise in obstetrics. Please note that not all abnormalities can be identified at this early stage of pregnancy. Please attend with a full bladder, as this may improve the chance of identifying the gender. If you have a raised BMI, we recommend waiting until at least 17 weeks, as accuracy may be reduced before this stage. Important information Gender cannot always be confirmed on the day, particularly if baby is in an unfavourable position. If this happens, we will offer to rebook your appointment free of charge in 7 days. Please bear this in mind when booking.
